our inception
From October 26 to 28, 2018, more than 60 people gathered in Mexico City to discuss the situation of the LGBTI+ person within the Catholic Church of Mexico and their rights in Mexican society as a whole. It was the First Convention of Mexico's Rainbow Catholic Leaders.
The goal was to establish a network of faithful Christians who would work for inclusion, dignity and equality as part of a Pastoral of Sexual Diversity in Mexico. The result of this providential gathering - whose motto was "We cannot be silent about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4,20) - was the foundation of the Mexico Network of Rainbow Catholics (REDCAM), on Sunday, October 28, 2018.
On that day, the LGBTI+ Catholic leaders of Mexico signed a Letter of Commitment that testified – before each other, before the Church and before God - to their desire to formalize the creation of this new evangelizing initiative.

why rainbow?
Because we found that this is the best way to include all our diversities, without exception. Everyone is welcome here, with all LGBTI+ acronyms taken into account.
